Following are the requirements for obtaining an entry visa to the Syrian Arab Republic
Procedures for obtaining an entry Visa to Syria :
1- Holders of regular (or tourism) passports
- If the purpose of the visit is commercial (or business related) an invitation from the Syrian enterprise dealing with the visa applicant should be provided. Also, a memo from the Chinese enterprise to which the applicant is affiliated should be provided stating the objective of the visit and guarantying that the applicant will return to China upon completion of his/her business in Syria.
2- Holders of Diplomatic, Service and other official passports (official missions)
- Applicants are required to fill-in Online two copies of the Visa application form then Print out with a 4x4 cm photo attached to each form. ( Click here to download the Visa application form )
- Fee for visa is waivered.
- An official memo from the Chinese Foreign Ministry (or other relevant governmental agencies) addressed to the Embassy of Syria requesting the entry visa and clarifying the purpose of the visit.
3- Foreign nationals resident in China
- Applicants are required to fill-in Online two copies of the Visa application form then Print out with a 4x4 cm photo attached to each form. ( Click here to download the Visa application form )
- A photocopy of the China residence permit valid for at least six months.
- A memo from the employer of the applicant stating the objective of the visit and guarantying that the applicant will return to China upon completion of his/her visit to Syria.
- If the purpose of the visit is commercial (or business related) an invitation from the Syrian enterprise dealing with the visa applicant should be provided. Also, a memo from the Chinese enterprise to which the applicant is affiliated should be provided stating the objective of the visit and guarantying that the applicant will return to China upon completion of his/her business in Syria.
4- Foreign nationals resident in China
- Any Syrian citizen holding a foreign passport is granted an entry visa (free of charge) upon arrival to any border crossing checkpoint after presenting a document proving his/her Syrian origin (e.g. passport, identity card, family status document, civil registry certificate, military service document , driving license).
- The foreign wife of a Syrian citizen is granted an entry visa upon arrival to any border crossing checkpoint. Visa fees are due. In the case she has a valid residency permit and has obtained an exit/re-entry visa, she is exempted from visa fees.
- The foreign husband of a Syrian citizen is granted an entry visa upon arrival to any border crossing checkpoint except for U.S. citizens. Visa fees are due. In the case he has a valid residency permit and had obtained an exit/re-entry visa, he is exempted from visa fees. U.S. citizens are required to obtain a visa prior to arriving to Syria.
- Children of male Syrian citizens holding a foreign passport are granted an entry visa (free of charge) upon arrival to any border crossing checkpoint after presenting a document proving their Syrian origin.
- Children of female Syrian citizens holding a foreign passport are granted an entry visa upon arrival to any border crossing checkpoint after presenting a document proving their Syrian origin. Visa fees are due. In the case they have a valid residency permit and had obtained an exit/re-entry visa, they are exempted from visa fees.
5- Entry Visa Fees for Arab citizens and visitors of Syrian descent
- Every Arab citizen holding a foreign passport is required to pay visa fees.
- All visitors of Syrian descent holding a foreign passport are required to pay visa fees unless they provide a document proving their Syrian origin. In this case they do not need an entry visa in advance. The borders crossing checkpoints will grant them an entry visa free of charge.
